Mental health

Mental health is a state of mind. Happiness, grief, stress, depression are all states of mental health.

Mental health is more than just the absence of mental disorders. It’s a state of well-being that involves how you think, feel, and act. It affects how you handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

Here’s a definition from the World Health Organization (WHO): “Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”

Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.  Taking care of your mental health can help you live a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
